Kelly plays for the Becton softball team and is hoping to continue playing through her senior year. She also describes herself as a “very driven student”– always wanting to stay on top of her work and perform at the highest level. After graduating, Kelly wants to attend college and study to become a lawyer. Kelly plans to leave New Jersey and possibly attend Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kelly credits her role model, her mother, as her inspirations for her goals. Kelly shares, “My mom is a single parent who taught me how to be independent. She taught me that you do not always need someone’s help in order to reach your goals.” On the topic, Kelly’s short term goals for this year are to keep a solid work ethic, stay on top of her grades, come to school looking her best, find a job, countinue fostering her friendships, and continue to perform in softball. As for the Cat’s Eye View, Kelly aims to “write outside the box” and ultimately explore her creative freedom.
