Throughout her time at Becton, Song has taken on a rigorous course load, including multiple AP and honors classes such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Physics I, and AP English. Her commitment to challenging herself academically reflects both her work ethic and her passion for learning.
In addition to her academic success, Song is actively involved in a number of clubs and organizations. She is a member of the Environmental Club, National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Key Club. Through these activities, she has consistently demonstrated leadership, responsibility, and a willingness to contribute to the school community.
Outside of school, Song continues to make an impact by working as a tutor at Kumon, where she helps younger students build their skills in reading and math. She also volunteers with Valley Health, further showing her commitment to helping others.
Song emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and taking advantage of opportunities.
“You don’t know what is going to happen if you don’t try,” she said. “You miss a hundred percent of the shots you don’t take.”
Looking ahead, Song plans to attend Rutgers University, where she will major in biology on the pre-med track. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine, with the goal of becoming a pediatrician or family medicine doctor.
Song’s ability to balance academics, extracurricular activities, work, and service highlights her dedication and drive. More importantly, her supportive and positive presence among her peers makes her a deserving choice for April Student of the Month.
