Kimi Tampadong, Staff Writer
The Cat’s Eye View welcomes the newest member Kimi Tampadong! She is a sophomore at Becton Regional High School. As a writer, she hopes to gain a new lens into the world of journalism, “My main goal is to learn the proper technique when it comes to writing newspapers. But, I would love to be more involved in the community in any way I can!” Helping out whenever she can, has always been second nature to her.
Whenever she is not writing for the newspaper, she can be found baking delicious treats. Her crowned specialty is oatmeal cookies; however, she has her eyes set on perfecting crème brûlée. Tampadong can also be spotted on the field, practicing her cheer routines! She has been a cheerleader since she was learning how to walk! Tampadong is also an active member of the Environment, Robotics Club, and the nearly famous Debate Team. She is open to joining more clubs within her high school years. Two clubs in particular that she would love to join are the Girls Helping Girls and Student Council.
As for her long-term goals, Tampadong’s heart lies in the field of Law, making her ultimate favorite role model Alexandria, Oscaio-Cortez. Like many other young women, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has inspired Tampadong to follow her ambition and become her own hero. Tampadong reflects this admiration by pursuing the field of law, “For a long time, I would watch a ton of law shows like Criminal Minds, and Law and Order, it always caught my interest.” Tampadong has other aspirations to travel the world, and specifically visit Tokyo, Japan for its lively atmosphere and for a perspective into a different culture. Overall, Tampadong would love to soak up all the knowledge that she can from her time at Becton and strengthen her recording and social skills through The Cat’s Eye View.
