Sylvia Faltyn, Staff Writer
Sylvia Faltyn is joining The Cat’s Eye View for her senior year! With the pandemic cutting off half of her Sophomore year, she was able to appreciate and fully understand how to find joy in spending time alone. However, she has come back active in many of the clubs that are offered in Becton, including the Paw Club, Girls Helping Girls, Key Club, Environmental Club and many others. Furthermore, Sylvia either wants to pursue a career as an environmental scientist, or as a cinematographer. Her aspirations in environmental science root from her obligation to protect and care for the planet. For cinematography, when Sylvia was younger she was not considered the biggest movie fanatic, but as she grew older, so did her interest. She saw beyond the plot of movies and became invested in the symbolism and how directors were able to capture a certain feeling to the audience. In her free time, Sylvia can be found working as a barista, thrifting, reading, volunteering, or watching movies. As for her future, Sylvia expresses great interest in Syracuse University (due to its great film program), Rutgers University, and Montclair University. Finally, Sylvia emphasizes the philosophy of trusting yourself, listening to your instincts and lastly, not being afraid to be your most authentic self.
