Becton debaters continue to impress with multiple wins

The Becton Debate Team has found success once again at the last varsity and junior varsity matches before the championship debates.

On Thursday, February 26, the Junior Varsity Becton Debate Team and Novice Debate Team competed groups from Wood-Ridge, Cresskill, River Dell, Dwight Englewood and North Bergen. The Becton record was four wins and two losses with eighth graders Chime Chodon and Cindy Muco receiving a medal for winning both of their debates.

Furthermore, on Friday, February 27, the Becton Varsity Debate Team competed against teams from Ridgefield Park, Wood-Ridge, Fort Lee, Dumont, and River Dell at the Ridgefield Park High School.The two senior teams of Rebecca Sass and Kerolos Aziz, and Sharon Skeahan and Renee Kochinski tied for third place, and the overall record for the varsity team was five wins and one loss during the match.

The February varsity debate was the last one for the season until the April championship, and the junior varsity championship debate will be held on March 11.
