The Becton Wildcats Boys Basketball team earned a decisive 75–43 win over Garfield High School, pulling away in the second half behind a strong offensive showing and consistent defensive pressure.
Becton set the tone early and widened the gap after halftime, using a productive third quarter to create separation. Danny Wallner led all scorers with 19 points, including 11 points in the third quarter, a stretch that proved critical in shifting the momentum firmly in Becton’s favor.
Messiah Dunbar added 10 points, providing steady scoring throughout the game. The Wildcats also benefited from balanced contributions, with Selim Elhetawy, Colin Moran, and Michael Callanan each scoring 7 points, underscoring the team’s depth and unselfish play.
Defensively, Becton limited Garfield’s scoring opportunities and capitalized on stops to generate efficient offensive possessions. The combination of ball movement, transition scoring, and disciplined defense allowed the Wildcats to maintain control as the game progressed.
The win marked another strong performance for Becton as the team continued to build momentum during the winter season.
