The Bectobots robotics team delivered an impressive performance at a recent competition in Englewood, showcasing determination, teamwork, and creativity throughout the event. Competing against strong teams from across the league, the Bectobots placed eighth overall and won three out of five matches, proving their ability to stay competitive even when facing challenges.
Despite experiencing a few robot hiccups during the meet, the team remained focused and resilient. Instead of letting setbacks slow them down, members adapted, problem-solved, and continued to bring their best effort to each match. Their perseverance paid off in a major way.
In a historic achievement for the program, the Bectobots were named Inspire Award Runner-Up, marking the first Inspire Award recognition in team history. The Inspire Award celebrates teams that demonstrate excellence both on and off the field, highlighting creativity, collaboration, and a strong commitment to the values of robotics competition. Earning this honor reflected the team’s hard work, innovation, and dedication throughout the season.
A special shoutout goes to Ms. Mackanin, the Bectobots robotics team advisor, whose leadership and guidance have played a key role in the team’s success. Through her dedication to STEM education and student growth, Ms. Mackanin continues to support the team as they develop technical skills, teamwork, and confidence.
The team also expressed appreciation to Team 4326 for hosting the event and creating an environment that was both competitive and enjoyable. The meet served as a motivating milestone as the Bectobots continue to build momentum.
Looking ahead, the team is energized for the rest of the season, with their next stop being the NJ East Bergen Tournament in February. With confidence growing and achievements already stacking up, the Bectobots are ready to keep pushing forward.
Go Bectobots!
