At Becton, Mr. Wildcat, Akash Sathish, and Ms. Wildcat, Analise Feliz, shine as role models of leadership and school involvement! Sathish and Feliz, who were voted into these titles by their peers, consistently demonstrate their commitment to Becton by setting goals, participating in various activities, and inspiring others to make the most of their high school experiences.
For both Sathish and Feliz, their motivation stems from a deep sense of involvement and connection to the school community. Sathish finds motivation from his peers, “My favorite part about being a Wildcat student is the sense of community – everyone’s always supporting each other and pushing each other to do their best. It feels like being part of a big family.” He stays on track by setting small goals, celebrating victories and staying involved in many clubs and sports to maintain excitement. Similarly, Feliz stays motivated by focusing on the rewards of her efforts while still living in the moment, “I look forward to what comes at the end of the school year when all the hard work pays off. I also feel that this is the time to have fun and make memories before it’s too late,” she shares.
The two agree that true school spirit, for them, can be summed up in one word: passion. Their unwavering dedication to Becton serves as a source of inspiration. Satish loves to lead by example, encouraging students to participate in as many activities as they can, while Feliz relishes in spending time with her friends while supporting her school. Driven by that shared passion for school spirit, both Sathish and Feliz dedicate themselves to inspiring others and contributing to the school community. Sathish supports his peers by encouraging, “I lead by example– inviting my peers to try something new. Sometimes, all it takes is a little push or someone to go with.” He loves hyping up his classmates for school events, believing that a high-energy environment makes the experience better for everyone.
Traditions are a cornerstone of our community, bringing everyone together. Sathish’s favorite tradition at Becton are the Spirit Weeks, a time for students to showcase their pride, creativity, and take a break from the usual routine. He also enjoys the energy of pep rallies, explaining, “It really brings the whole school together.”
Feliz values Senior Nights, “Senior Nights are important to me because, as an athlete, it’s nice to see my friends and school supporting and celebrating our seniors. I’m sure every athlete can agree.” She also loves the Battle of the Grades, where all classes unite. “Our class is very competitive, so it’s fun coming together to try to beat the other classes,” she says, confident her class will win again this year. Overall, as one of the leaders of the Becton Jungle fan base, Feliz enjoys representing her school and prepares for events by planning up to two weeks in advance with themed outfits, accessories, and Becton attire.
Looking ahead, both Sathish and Feliz are focused on achieving their goals and continuing their growth. Sathish is committed to growing as a leader, helping his clubs reach new milestones, and maintaining strong academics, “I keep a positive attitude by focusing on why I started and reminding myself that stress is temporary. I plan to stay consistent,” he says. Similarly, Feliz has set her sights on a successful track season and securing a commitment to a Division 1 school. “I’m ready to accomplish big things,” Feliz states confidently, determined to reach her goals and make the most of her opportunities.
Feliz emphasizes the fleeting nature of high school, urging others to cherish these moments, “These moments aren’t forever, and in a few years, it won’t be like this… so make memories!” Satish echoes this sentiment, concluding that the true reward lies in “inspiring others and giving back to the community that has shaped me.”
Thus, both Sathish and Feliz serve as exceptional role models for their peers – reminding us that high school is not just about academics, but creating lasting experiences! Whether leading pep rallies, competing in school events, or encouraging others to get involved, they embody what it means to be a Wildcat—supporting one another and always striving for excellence.
