Becton High School Celebrates Prom 2016

Julio Rodriguez, Staff Writer

Prom is happening at Becton Regional High School and many people are very very excited about it. Prom will be held June 2, 2016 at The Brownstone in Paterson NJ for the Junior and Senior class. The Brownstone, owned by Ex “Real Housewife of New Jersey” Caroline Manzo’s husband Albert, is a historic landmark catering hall in Paterson, NJ. Underclassmen are also invited to attend the event if they have been invited by an upperclassmen. All 200 Prom bids (priced at $76) have sold out, making this evening’s prom a full house.

As the academic year comes to an end, students are looking forward to attending prom as it is the perfect way to celebrate before exams start. All of the student and staff attending get dressed up in formal wear and enjoy a night of music, dancing, and eating. Everyone gets to see each other dressed up much differently than they would be on a normal school day.

The theme for this years prom is “Hollywood,” similar to last year’s theme of “Vegas.” The Junior and Senior class is very excited to create memories that will last a lifetime. Prom will be from 6:00-11:00pm. Cocktail hour will last from 6:00-7:00 and then the festivities will begin. Prom king, queen, prince, and princess will be silently chosen by the Becton staff that attends by the end of the night. “I’m sure everyone is going to look beautiful and have a lovely time.” says English teacher Mrs. Gatto, who will be chaperoning the event.
