Ms. Prinzo to integrate technology into her English classes
September 18, 2016
New English Teacher Ms.Prinzo is excited at the opportunity to work at Becton Regional High School because she enjoys the community and has very high hopes for the student body. She is currently teaching English 10, English 11, English 11CP and public speaking. She is most eager to teach public speaking because it is a new and challenging subject for her.
Ms. Prinzo earned a teaching degree from Ramapo College in New Jersey. She initially majored in psychology but decided that a concentration in education better suited her personality. She credits her interest in studying education to her memorable relationships with her teachers while growing up.
During the 2016-2017 school year, the English instructor has utilized the opportunity to intergrate technology into her teaching syllabus. So far, she has created a Twitter account for her classroom, she has an “Edmodo” webpage for her students and is requiring that most of her projects be computer based. “Everyone likes technology to a certain degree or uses it in their daily lives. I wanted to do something a little more engaging that allows students to be a little more creative,” Ms. Prinzo explained.
Junior Tyler Koch said, “ We live in a world where technology is everywhere now, so it just seems right to start adding it into the classrooms.” Although teachers may try to stray away from using technology, Ms.Prinzo said she wants to break that mold and welcome this advancement into her class.
Aside from her classroom, Ms. Prinzo feels very welcomed by the entire Wildcat community. She enjoys the surrounding environment, along with all the students and staff that support her. “The students have a great attitude. I can’t complain about anything. The teachers are extremely supportive and kind. So far it’s been amazing here.”
Overall, she feels her decision to join the Becton family will be an experience that keeps on giving. She hopes to make each year better and brighter than the last.
