Becton Regional High School is pleased to congratulate Karolina Rupinski as our December Student of the Month. Rupinski has received recognition for her unwavering commitment to her studies, leadership in extracurricular activities and positive contributions to the Becton community.
Rupinski’s reaction to being named Student of the Month reflects her humble nature and gratitude, “I am very honored to have been nominated Student of the Month. This reward means a lot to me, as it shows that all of my hard work and dedication to my classes hasn’t gone unnoticed.” Her achievements are not only a testament to her work ethic but also to the support she has received from teachers and peers, “Without the people in my life who encouraged me, I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish all that I have,” Rupinski added.
Her academic journey includes a challenging course load with Advanced Placement (AP) classes such as AP Literature, AP Biology and AP European History. She emphasizes organization as the key to balancing these demanding courses. “I keep a planner with all of my due dates and upcoming tests,” she explained, “Having a strict schedule helps me stay on top of my assignments while making time for relaxation.”
In addition to excelling in academics, Rupinski is heavily involved in extracurricular activities. She is a member of multiple clubs and organizations, including the National Honor Society, Debate Team, Student Council, Key Club and the Environmental Club. Not only does she participate, but she also holds leadership positions, such as president of the Social Studies Honor Society, treasurer of the Multicultural Club and Captain of the Debate Team.
Her peers recognize her ability to manage these numerous responsibilities while maintaining a positive and approachable attitude. “Karolina has always been a kind and genuine person,” shared Noella Turla, a fellow student, “She balances everything she does with grace and never hesitates to help others.”
Rupinski’s commitment to helping others extends beyond the classroom. She volunteers at her church, assisting in a religious education program and offering translation between Polish and English. She also contributes to her former Polish Supplementary Learning School, where she teaches Polish-American youth about their culture and heritage. Rupinski’s dedication to service is an important part of who she is, as she believes in giving back to the community that has shaped her.
Throughout her time at Becton, Rupinski has benefited from strong mentorship, particularly from Mr. Bill Carr, who has had a significant impact on her growth as a student. “Karolina is focused, determined, and good-natured,” Mr. Carr praised, “She is one of the most organized students I have had the leisure of teaching, and her ability to manage her responsibilities is something I greatly admire.”
Mr. Carr also reflected on Rupinski’s personal growth, noting how she has become a respected leader. “She was very shy and reserved as a freshman, but now she is leader on the Debate Team and is admired by all of her teammates,” he explained.
Rupinski’s plans for the future are as ambitious as her high school achievements. She plans to pursue a doctorate in biochemistry and work as a medical biologist. “I’ve always been interested in lab work, and I hope to use my skill to help diagnose illnesses and find treatments,” she attested.
Rupinski’s dedication to her education, her leadership in various clubs and her selfless nature make her an inspiring example of her peers. Her advice for those aspiring to be named Student of the Month is simple but powerful: “Don’t let setbacks or difficult subjects discourage you. Learn from your mistakes, ask for help and keep moving forward!”
Congratulations to Karolina Rupinski, Becton’s December Student of the Month!
