Becton’s Chick-fil-A leadership group, under the leadership of Ms. Klamerus, visited the pediatric cancer wing at Hackensack Hospital on December 20 to distribute holiday gifts to children.

“I was excited to put smiles on their faces and make their day,” said Junior Jeffrey Marques. Senior Anthony Thomas added, “I’m excited to see kids happy. It makes me happy.”

The holiday toy drive was a cumulative idea from all those involved in the Chick-fil-A Leadership Program. Essentially, what influenced the group’s decision to do a toy drive was the shared realization that everyone deserves a joyous holiday no matter where they are. “Some kids can’t celebrate at home, and it’s good to show them we care,” said Senior Anna Cioce.

Upon arriving at the hospital, the children were gifted shoeboxes filled with toys and trinkets, such as coloring books, action figures, dolls and puzzles. In total, 52 shoeboxes were filled.

Immediately afterwards, the members were treated to lunch at Chick-fil-A in Teterboro.
