June Student of the Month: Victoria Cruz
June 9, 2017
Senior Victoria Cruz is the Henry P. Becton Regional High School June Student of the Month due to her academic excellence and participation in extracurricular activities.
Victoria’s strong academics have earned her a spot on the National Honor Society for two-years and Spanish Honor Society for three years.
Besides her representing Becton through an academic perspective, she has also been an active student by participating as a varsity cheerleader and Key Club member for all four years of her high school career. This year, she has become a member of the Yearbook Club, Environmental Club, and Becton’s newspaper, the Cat’s Eye View.
“Vicky has always been a hard worker since the first day of school. There is not a single day that she is not giving it her all,” said Victoria’s calculus teacher Mrs. Ferris.
English Teacher Mrs. Gatto added, “From term papers to simply reading, Vicky has always seemed passionate and determined whenever she is working in class.”
Over the summer, the June Student of the Month will be working as a counselor for the East Rutherford Recreation Center for her third year in a row.
In the fall, she will attend Ramapo College in Mahwah in order to pursue her career in the medical field as a nurse. She mentioned that she always wanted to be a nurse ever since she was young enough to remember.
“I really want to be a nurse because I want to help others in need while also living my dream,” she said.
