Ms. Christine Internicola appointed as Supervisor of Guidance

The Carlstadt-East Rutherford Regional Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine Internicola as Supervisor of Guidance at Henry P. Becton Regional High School. Ms. Internicola was appointed at the special meeting on Thursday, June 18, 2015.
The Carlstadt-East Rutherford Regional Board of Education believes the new supervisor will be able to work with all stakeholders, including faculty/staff, parents, students, and the community in not only continuing the school’s high performance and academically focused tradition, but also in bringing it to the next level.
Ms. Internicola holds a Director of School Counseling Services Certification, Principal’s Certification, Supervisor Certification, Student Assistance Coordinator Certification, and School Counselor Certification. She has been nominated Teacher of The Year 2014-2015 by the Cedar Grove School District and was awarded by ADAPT “Keeping Communities Safe” in 2015. She was an active member of the Cedar Grove’s Municipal Alliance Committee and worked closely with members of the Association of Student Assistance Professionals (ASAP) of New Jersey. Ms. Internicola is a truly dedicated professional who is versatile and highly qualified in her abilities. She is an effective problem solver who can work through complex issues to arrive at helpful solutions and decisions.
Ms. Internicola was seeking to join an innovative and forward thinking district in which she would be able to dedicate her 21st Century skills towards the growth of student’s mental, physical and emotional needs. She stated, “A successful learning environment can be achieved through high expectations, goal setting, collaboration amongst staff and parents, and encouraging a nurturing school climate.”
As a leader in education, she aspires to create a school culture filled with opportunities for student accomplishment while promoting life-long learning skills. Throughout her career she has worked in school counseling and support services, implementing policy, conducting staff professional development, and assisting with curricular mapping. She has developed new and exciting student programs while creating a nurturing and safe learning environment.
As the Supervisor of Guidance, Ms. Internicola plans to place emphasis on student needs, staff professional development, the goals of the school district, state testing, community involvement, curriculum development, educational programs, assessments, extracurricular opportunities, and at-risk students. Ms.
Internicola strongly believes in motivating staff and students to create an encouraging school climate and awareness of mental, physical and emotional well-being.
The Carlstadt-East Rutherford Regional Board of Education is confident that Ms. Internicola’s work ethic, energy and charisma fit the needs of the Henry P. Becton Regional High School community.
