Becton’s November Artist of the Month has been recognized as Duke Harrison Christu Rajasekar!
According to Mrs. Dawn Savincki, Christu Rajasekar’s art teacher, his dedication to his craft is what sets him apart. “Duke takes his time and puts in a great deal of effort into every piece he creates,” she attests. “Every work he creates is unique. He puts his own twist or style into each artwork and experiments with additional techniques, which shows that he has a love for creating art. It seems personal to him.”
Among the key qualities that led to Christu Rajasekar’s selection as Artist of the Month are his originality, creativity, and the significant dedication he invests in every piece he creates. Mrs. Savincki emphasized that she looks for students who “work hard every day in class, creating quality work and demonstrating a variety of skills in different techniques,” adding that Christu Rajasekar exemplifies these qualities through his positive attitude and consistent drive.
What truly distinguishes Christu Rajasekar is his ability to infuse his personal style into every piece he creates. His balance between realism and abstraction, combined with his creative use of techniques, makes him a standout artist in the classroom. Mrs. Savincki values students who surpass the expectations of an assignment, pushing boundaries and going beyond what is asked of them—qualities that Duke exemplifies. “Duke is good at either creating something realistic or abstract. His work shows a lot of depth and dimension,” she commends.
Christu Rajasekar is extremely proud of his art work and notes his “Sneaker Art” as one of his personal favorites. “I drew many different angles of the shoes I own. I spent my effort and time to create it as close as possible to the original one. I am really happy that it came out looking good,” Christu Rajasekar explained. Alongside this, he mentions that his overall favorite work of his is “The Value Scale Letter.”
Having taken art classes for the past four years, Christu Rajasekar has developed and refined his artistic skills. Reflecting on his journey, he shares, “I learned to be patient when creating art. Your result will take time and effort.”
His passion for art began in elementary school, where he enjoyed drawing, coloring, shading, and painting. He further nurtured this passion by attending after-school art classes and working with a tutor. Despite his love for art, Christu explains that he does not plan to pursue it as a career. “If I have a chance, I will pursue art as a side hobby, but not as a profession,” he concludes.
Duke Harrison Christu Rajasekar’s recognition as Artist of the Month highlights not only his artistic talent but also his dedication, creativity and passion for the craft. While he may not pursue art as a profession, his love for creating unique and meaningful works of art continues to inspire his peers. Congratulations Duke!
