Rose Padovano is entering her sophomore year of high school at Becton Regional. She is very excited about the upcoming school year and can not wait to begin writing for the Cat's Eye View! Padovano lives in Maywood, New Jersey, making her part of the first-ever Maywood classes to attend Becton Regional. She has 4 siblings, of which she is the second oldest. Padovano is joined at Becton by her older sister who will be graduating this year. Although she was not in any clubs during her freshman year, Padovano is interested in joining Key Club in hopes of growing her involvement within the school and giving back to the community. Outside of school, she has taken on a new job at Hallmark located in Maywood. “I started working because I wanted to take on a new responsibility,” said Padovano. When she is not at school or work, one of her favorite things to do is read. She explained that she started reading during the initial COVID-19 lockdown and could not get enough ever since. Padovano would read almost anything she can get her hands on! Her love for reading goes deep beyond just a hobby and has expanded into her plans for the future. After graduating, she hopes to attend college and major in English in order to become an English teacher. She says one of her biggest goals this year is to work hard in all of her classes and get stellar grades. Finally, Padovano says with enthusiasm, “I am looking forward to writing for the Cat's Eye View because I want to learn more about my school community while helping others learn about the community as well!”
