Nine new members inducted into National Honor Society

Nineteen of Becton’s finest students have been inducted into the National Honor Society.

Nine students have been inducted into the National Honor Society on Nov. 20. The list includes seniors Alessandra Acevedo and Angelyn Ariza and juniors JulieAnne Fossett, Cecilia Kang, Martha Kato, Catherine Kim, Alyssa Nozka, Gianna Penna and Salome Siradze.

The NHS officers include Gene Lee, Jacklyn Sewastianowicz, Cindy Muco & Wonhui Seo.

A total of 19 juniors and seniors have met the minimum requirement in order to be a part of the prestigious society. Students need to have a grade point average of 93 or higher, they must participate in an average of three activities per year and they must volunteer in their community. Furthermore, students should exhibit qualities such as leadership and character.

Mrs. Colangelo, the NHS adviser, addresses the crowd.

Members who have been previously inducted in 2017 include Maya Dobrygowski, Shanny Flammanc, Veronica Hernandez, Paige Kruse, Alyssa Lesho, Justin Wojna and officers Gene Lee, Jacklyn Sewastianowicz, Cindy Muco and Wonhui Seo.
