FALLing for fashion

Fall, the season of large, comfortable sweaters and pumpkin flavored Starbucks frappucinos, is finally here. With one of the best seasons for fashion among us, the students and faculty of Becton were asked to describe their signature style choices.

Eight out of twelve students and teachers preferred jeans over leggings. English Teacher Mrs. Lonergan said, “Jeans. I know leggings are back, but after being pregnant for two years, I am completely over them.”

Next , the controversy over beanies and snap backs resulted in five out of nine students preferring beanies. Senior Klaudia Ryznar said, “My head is a little too big for both, but I definitely like snap backs better on guys.”

As for the best places to shop, many students asserted that their favorite stores are Forever 21, Brandy Melville, H&M and Lord & Taylor. When History Teacher Mr. Bononno was asked what his favorite store to shop at was he answered, “Justice! Only kidding… that is where I find myself more often with my wife and nine year old. If I were to walk in with you at this moment, I could probably tell you where every single thing is. Even the socks.”

With New York Fashion Week coming to a close last month, the fashion industry revealed that the surprising new fall colors for this season are pastels. According to fashionista .com, mint green, lilac and baby blue will be around for a while longer. Mrs. Settembrino explained that she believes pastels “are more for spring, but I am always open for a change.” Unlike Mrs. Settembrino, a lot of people were completely against this change. Ninety-five percent of the people that were asked at Becton said that pastels as fall colors were simply a big no.
