Senior Timothy Reid has been named October Student of Month because of his 100.6 grade point average and his active involvement in Becton’s extracurricular activities. Tim is a member of the National Honor Society, Horticulture Club, Key Club, Math League and the newly created Political Science Club. He is also a Becton Football athlete.

Without even finishing his high school career, the Student of the Month is already hard at work pursuing a career in a particular field of interest. As an active intern with Becton’s District Technology Coordinator, Richard Gbaguidi, Tim noted that he sees himself working in the field of computer science or computer security in the future. He is also open to working in the field of IT support.

Currently, the honor student is researching and looking into applying to Lehigh University, Rutgers University, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Princeton University. “My dream school would be Princeton,” he said. But first, his plans are to graduate high school with high honors and eventually graduate college with the same high honors.

“Even though there will be hard challenges, you should always try to persist through them and never stop, even if things are just getting harder” is the October Student of the Month’s advice for his peers.

“My dad is one of my biggest influences and also my peers,” he noted.
