Becton Cheerleaders stand strong alongside football team

Standing on the sidelines and performing at halftime, our very own Becton Cheering Team has worked all summer to prepare for these highly anticipated games. Each and every day the girls perform and try to perfect their routine in order to be flawless at games. With a squad of 41 girls, a typical practice includes performing their cheers and quarter dances, and perfecting their stunts.

This year’s captains are Seniors Gianna Feroldi and Shannon Kennedy who were voted on by the team as well as Co-Captains Claudia Horan and Brittany Lavarco. Coached by Mrs. Scalera, the squad looks to have another successful year on and off the field. “It doesn’t get easier, you just get better,” said Mrs. Scalera.

When not on the field, the cheerleaders are decorating the Becton hallways and volunteering at several after school events such as the Freshman Barbeque and Back to School Night.
