The Becton Girls’ Basketball season has begun and it includes two new coaches, Varsity Basketball Coach Joseph Colombo and Junior-Varsity Basketball Coach Mark Dolaghan.

While Coach Colombo has overseen several teams in the past, this is a first for Coach Dolaghan.

The new varsity basketball coach has been coaching for fifteen seasons, which includes leading teams at DePaul Catholic High School, Mary Help Academy and Pequannock High School. His team at Pequannock High School won the North One Group Two Championship.

Moving on, Coach Dolaghan is currently a fifth-grade language arts and history teacher at Carlstadt Public School. While he has coached baseball before, this is his first official basketball season. He explains that he is looking forward to this season and could not be more excited.

“I want to win. But most importantly, I want to make sure we have a cohesive family atmosphere and that we’re all playing to the best of our abilities,” said Coach Colombo.

Following up, Coach Dolaghan hopes to “mold the players into productive members of society and extract their passions and talent.”
