For the 2015-2016 school year, Mrs. Connie Avila will be directing the school musical Little Shop of Horrors.

“I’m so excited; the school has a beautiful auditorium, and I’m honored to work with this cast,” stated Adviser Mrs. Avila.

The new adviser has an immense amount of experience. She has directed plays and musicals for twelve years, and before this year, has experience directing eleven musicals.

When it comes down to auditions, she felt that there was a high level of talent, since all the students were well prepared and very enthusiastic.

For the auditions, candidates had to read scripts of the character that they were auditioning for and sing songs from the play. The auditions went well, and Freshman Joshua Novello was given the lead role of Seymour Krelbourne. Joshua has been in school plays since he was in the fifth grade at Faust Middle School, and in eighth grade, he landed the lead role for Annie.

“I love the play, and I feel like this role was meant to be,” stated Joshua.

Rehearsals begin on Thursday, November 5, and they will take place three times a week in the late afternoon or evening. The opening night for the play will be February 26.
