The BCDL Varsity Debate held at Wood Ridge High School on January 9 had a positive ending for the Becton Debate Team. Senior Sharon Skeahan received first place varsity speaker and Alex Gatopoulos and Renee Kochinski tied for second place varsity speaker. Both teams each made up of Sharon Skeahan and Renee Kochinski and Alex Gatopoulos and David Stoltz tied for second place team. Sharon and Renee earned top team points (102). Last but certainly not least, Akemi Yara received first place judge. Six schools and more than 25 teams participated in the tournament.
